Pace Digitek Strengthens Its Technology Foundation with Dedicated R&D Centre and IISER Pune Collaboration

As India's energy storage market is poised for significant growth, driven by increasing renewable energy integration, grid modernization and the rising need for reliable energy storage solutions, technology and innovation are becoming key differentiators. Strengthening its long-term innovation roadmap, Pace Digitek Ltd., through its subsidiary Lineage Power Private Limited (LPPL), has established the Pace-Lineage Research Center in Pune and entered into a research collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune to advance indigenous research in advanced battery technologies and battery materials.

The newly established dedicated Research & Development (R&D) Centre is designed to strengthen LPPL's research, engineering and product development capabilities in Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACC) and energy storage solutions. Aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India, the Centre aims to contribute to the development of indigenous technologies while strengthening India's domestic capabilities in energy storage.

As part of this initiative, LPPL has partnered with IISER Pune to undertake research on advanced battery technologies and battery materials. The research programme will focus on Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACC), including Lithium-ion (Li-ion) and Sodium-ion (Na-ion) battery materials, with the objective of improving battery capacity and cycling stability. The programme will also include optimization of material coatings, tuning of material microstructure and porosity, development of new electrolytes, detailed material characterization, electrochemical evaluation and optimization of cell parameters.

Beyond technology development, the Centre will also evaluate and validate raw materials from domestic suppliers, supporting indigenous technology development while strengthening the local supply chain. The initiative reflects Pace Digitek's long-term strategy to expand its research and engineering capabilities in Advanced Chemistry Cell technologies and advanced battery systems, accelerate technology development, build in-house expertise and drive innovation across the energy storage value chain.

With India's energy storage ecosystem continuing to evolve, the Pace-Lineage Research Center complements the company's existing manufacturing, engineering and project execution capabilities by strengthening research in advanced battery materials and next-generation energy storage technologies, reinforcing Pace Digitek's commitment to innovation-led growth.
